La dynastie Nock apparut au 17ème siècle et, depuis 1860 environ, la famille Nock voyage avec son arène ou son chapiteau à travers la Suisse. De vieilles publicités montrent le cirque à Richterswil (1890) et à Davos (1892). Déjà en ce temps là, Nock était une grande entreprise connue voyageant avec orchestre, éléphants et générateur. Le cirque engageait déjà des artistes venant de l’étranger. Durant la 1ère guerre mondiale, la troisième génération voyageait séparément. En 1940, les trois fils de Pius Nock et de Klara, née von Puttkammer, se retrouvèrent et décidèrent de refaire des tournées en commun. Franz, Karl et Gustav Nock achetèrent un chapiteau à 4 mâts, qui fut détruit une année plus tard par une tempête. Par chance ils avaient encore une tente de résrve. C’est ainsi qu’après quelques jours de spectacle à ciel ouvert, ils purent à nouveau jouer sous chapiteau. En 1942, une autre tempête détruisit les restes des rêves de grandeur et, durant 12 ans, le Cirque Nock dut donner son spectacle à l’extérieur. Le 30 avril 1994 Francesco Nock (fils de Verena Nock jun.)est né à Genève. Il est e premier représentant de la huitième génération Nock. 2004 Francesco présente pour la première fois un numéro en piste. Dans la même année Bradon Nock, le deuxième fils de Verena Nock est né. Un ans plus tard le fils de Alexandra, Brian Bellu Nock voit le jour. Alexandra Nock est devenue directrice artistique. Elle dirige la régie pour la première fois en collaboration avec Eugène Chaplin, fils du légendaire Charlie Chaplin. Après le grand succès de la tournée 2006, l'histoire de la dynastie Nock continue.
