|  Annie Fratellini Pour Annie Fratellini, le cirque, c'était "un rond de paradis dans un monde dur et dément". Héritière d'une prestigieuse famille d'artistes de cirque partie de Florence, en Italie, au siècle dernier, elle chercha d'abord à faire carrière dans la chanson et le cinéma. Mais son mariage en 1969 avec l'acteur Pierre Étaix, amoureux fou de cirque, lui a permis de renouer avec son milieu d'origine.
Pressentant que le cirque est en danger de mort s'il ne se renouvelle pas, elle fonde, en 1974, l'Ecole de Cirque Annie Fratellini, ouverte à tous et à toutes sans aucune condition, pour former de nouveaux artistes. Elle a su insuffler un air nouveau dans le monde du cirque.
Elle est aussi un clown inoubliable, avec son visage rond comme une lune blanche, et une des rares joueuses au monde de concertina, ce petit accordéon des clowns.
